The Majlis announces opening of the first sushi bar in the Lamu archipelago The Majlis Restaurant has recently opened the first sushi bar in the Lamu archipelago. Main specialties served are sushi, sashimi and tempura.
Alongside creative sushi, the Majlis' menu features a number of Japanese classics such as seafood or vegetarian sushi, assorted sashimi, sushi hand-rolls and prawn tempura. The kitchen team is led by Head Chef Jackson Mnjama who has worked for several years at Misono, one of the leading Japanese restaurants in Kenya. The sushi bar brings diners closer to the action inviting guests to watch their selected dishes being prepared using high quality ingredients sourced fresh daily.
The Majlis is renowned for its excellent cuisine and two well stocked bars.
Our speciality cuisine includes International, Italian (seafood, pasta, wooden pizza oven and home-made ice cream) and Japanese dishes. The Majlis Restaurant is located on Ras Kitau Bay, Manda Island, which is a short 5 minute boat ride from Shela Village and only 15 minutes from Lamu Town.
